ISO is a worldwide standardization
organization made up of entities from over 110
countries. The standards set forth by these representing
bodies indicate a consensus on what
standardization means for the industries worldwide.
In order to become ISO 9001:2000
Certified, a company must first develop a strict
standard of operation based on eight quality
management principals. Then, the company
must subject all aspects of its organization to
intense scrutiny by an approved ISO auditor to
ensure that these principals are met satisfactorily.
